How to be calm and collected

Any age works

Deep breaths – slow deep breaths.  Inhale, count 1-4 and slowly exhale, count backwards if you like…..4,3,2,1.  Always slowly- not sudden or quick counts or quick breathing.  That doesn’t work.  You may even feel like you’re hyperventilating, so it’s not effective.  Deep breathing helps you slow down, take a pause. Step back.  Nothing is too urgent that you have to make a snap or impulsive decision.  This used to be my behavior, that I had to overcome.  I still do it every once in a while.  I’ve just evolved a lot.  It really takes time and lots of repetition.  During my introspection, I had lots of practice with raising my two kids during the course of my life.
